The purpose of this logotype was to present an image that summarizes my work. The design must be as simple as possible so it would not give impression that I cling to a specific style.
A sample of the sketches drawn to establish the general shape of the logotype. Shown here is just one page done during the drafting process. It is important to draw every possibility that comes to mind so that they cannot be forgotten when it is time move on to the next step.
Refinement of the sketches were done in Adobe Illustrator with several typefaces, slants, weights, and spacing options. What needed to be determined at this phase is how many lines could be combined or removed to give the logotype a minimal but unique shape. At the same time, the initials need to still be legible and some of these logos failed when their lines were reduced.
Seen here is an example of my logotype being used on my first business card. The colors were chosen as they are the main components of printing, which is what I specialize in.
